Many elders in nursing homes and retirement centers are often forgotten during the holidays. Imagine being alone and without a gift during the holiday season? The Silver Stocking Project is a grassroots, community-based project that delivers gifts to our elders who are without friends and family.
The Silver Stocking Project is working with Villager Voice Magazine to increase the number of elders we are able to serve.
The number of elders served in Forsyth and Davie County increased from 138 in 2005 to over 400 in 2008.
